"After the training I have had countless people come and tell me that the training was nothing like what they expected but that it was the best training they have had. The impact of the training was noticeable almost immediately both to other staff and customers. Matt was a fantastic trainer and facilitator, he delivered exactly what we were needing and his relaxed and easy manner worked with staff of all different attitudes."

"Wow, today was amazing thank you so much for organizing it. I walked in there feeling worn out and a bit emotionally beaten, but have walked out empowered and happy. I have the skills to deal with any situation now, I loved having my email responses looked at and used to enhance how I work in the future. I could fault nothing from today. I have come home happier than I have been for a while. Can’t wait to test my new skills. Thanks again.”
Better Training RESULTS
"By combining high-leverage best practices with cutting edge training techniques, Better Training clients experience significant, rapid, widespread and lasting changes in behaviour"
It isn’t easy to bring about real and lasting change. Training that receives excellent ratings often yields no perceptible change in performance, and thus no real return on investment. To overcome this 'learning transfer' problem, we:
- Train to 'DO' and not just to 'KNOW'. "So now that you know this, what will you do differently? We train the WHAT, they WHY and crucially the HOW! Learners are guaranteed to leave knowing what actions need to be taken to achieve the desired results.
- Integrate BEHAVIOUR CHANGE concepts to make learning stick! Knowing how to do something just isn't enough! To make change stick we embed a myriad of habit and behaviour change strategies into our solutions to assist learners convert knowledge into action.
- Utilise the latest RESEARCH to achieve the best results. Whether related to content or delivery, Better Training embraces all that science has to offer to keep you ahead of the game.
- Win both HEARTS and MINDS. People change only when they believe it is in their own best interest. Whether, customers, clients or employees, it is the personal win that gets people doing things differently.
- WARM you up then FOLLOW you up. All of our solutions have embedded pre and post session challenges that typically span 6-12 weeks. The result - learners develop motivation pre session, and are then compelled to put learning into action post session.

Who WE ARE
SAM FARMER

“I coach others through change so that they reach the best that they can be. Three fundamental values guide my practice: quality relationships; meaningful work; inner harmony.”

He has held supervisory, training and managerial roles in both Corrections and Health settings, and has travelled over 70 countries. These and other experiences are the foundations of his understanding of the diversity of perspectives and motivations that inform and drive human values, thinking, emotions and behaviour. In order to reach higher levels of performance and change how people think, feel and behave every day, key outcomes needs to be an ever present guide, i.e. "what do we want to walk out the door with at the end of our time together?" At Better Training post session performance (what will change as a result) is always the priority and thus every learning experience is measured against a single question... "How will this help us achieve our mission?" If the answer is, "it won't", or "I'm not sure" then the experience is altered to accommodate the specific needs and desired outcomes of the client. No exceptions! By keeping the big picture in mind and being agile with both the content and delivery of training solutions, Better Training consistently delivers better outcomes that lead to healthy cultures and spur consistent innovation and execution.
Better OUTCOMES.
04 IMPROVED PERFORMANCE IS THE PRIORITY
Research suggests that after only one week, newly learnt information is almost entirely forgotten, unless strategic and systematic content reviews are undertaken. It is certainly true that one of the biggest challenges with any type of learning is 'making it stick', that is, putting what has been learnt into practice (learning transfer). At Better Training this crucial but often overlooked aspect of training is thoroughly managed via an innovative blended learning approach (a mix of online/digital and in-room content). By book-ending in-room sessions with pre-training tasks and post-training challenges*, learners not only have a running start heading into training, but are systematically challenged to recall and utilise key content for 6 weeks afterwards. As a result of this consistent exposure to key content, learners achieve maximum learning transfer, develop new and robust habits and achieve new levels of performance.

03 MOVING FROM KNOWING TO DOING
Here's a question... How often do learners refer back to their training workbooks? The answer, which won't surprise you - hardly ever! Here at Better Training resources must meet key criteria, namely will they enhance learning and spur consistent innovation and execution before, during, and most importantly after training? If the answer is yes, they stay. If not, they're gone. In most cases this means workbooks are out, and instead standard offerings like desktop calendars, focussed worksheets and wearables (wristbands) are in. Crafted with ongoing use, visual impact and maximum accessibility in mind, Better Training's resources are, well... Just better!
Better RESOURCES.
02 IF IT'S NOT USEFUL IT'S NOT HERE
Ensuring learners enjoy every moment of training while being highly engaged is always a priority at Better Training. However engagement isn't just about having fun in the room. While fun is important the critical aspect of engagement is that it equals retention! Without this crucial element learners may have a good time but nothing much will change afterwards. Through innovative adult education practices, unique exercises and engaging facilitation learners have maximum fun while also being fully engaged. The result = learning is retained and utilised outside of training when its needed most!
